HOW TO SUPPORT US

The most direct method of support is, of course, by a donation to the Centre.

Apart from direct donations, however, there are many other ways you can help us to keep our doors open and continue to offer treatment to everyone who comes to us for help irrespective of race, gender, religion, social status or financial standing.

  1. Considering leaving a bequest to the Centre in your will.

  2. White elephant/unwanted presents/bric-a-brac: We have a continuous need for - well - everything … We not only sell it at the Centre in our "shop" in the Butler's Pantry we also visit and run car boot sales. There is nothing so fascinating as other people's junk and the steady flow of money in from The Butler's Pantry proves it. In addition, our Centre Manager (who plainly missed her true vocation) casts an eagle eye over all incoming items with a view to filtering them off for sale on eBay. We welcome everything - toys, china, ceramics, glass, jewellery … We have always prided ourselves on the fact that we can sell anything …

  3. Raffle Prizes: Every year we run a big raffle, which usually makes approximately £1,000. We also try to find interesting and different raffle prizes - and will welcome anything from toys, books, paintings and antiques to hot air balloon flights, free entry to tourist attractions or free meals.

  4. Books: We have had a thriving second-hand book shop at the Centre for years. Not only do we sell them in our Visitors' Lounge, we also visit car boots and local fairs with them. The better quality ones are - once again - filtered off for sale on eBay.

  5. Stationery/office supplies: Like most offices we get through an enormous amount of paper and envelopes. We are always happy to receive donations of paper, envelopes, files, pens, pencils, paper clips … anything at all.

  6. Garden supplies and tools: Our lovely semi-wild garden needs continual maintenance and we are always pleased to receive offers of such things as compost, plants and tools. We also have specific needs from time to time such as paving slabs, rockery stones and topsoil. If you have anything to offer, please contact us. A current list of our gardening needs can be found here.

  7. Physical help: We always need physical help in running the Centre. In fact, we could not function without our small army of volunteers who work in the garden, man stalls, bake cakes, staff reception, help send out our twice-yearly Newsletter, perform odd jobs around the Chase and generally pitch in to lend a hand.

  8. Become a Friend of the Centre: For further information on our "Friends", please click here.

  9. Hold a fundraising event for us - a coffee morning, a sponsored walk/slim/pub crawl, guess the name of the doll - anything - either large or small. We cannot run any fundraising events but will happily provide clerical back-up (copying, printing, typing, advertising in the Newsletter, etc.) for anyone who wishes to run an event of their own.
